Students from Year 7 to Year 12 will be provided with a laptop, including the software and licences required to undertake the suite of subjects on offer. The laptop will be provided for a period of 3 years, upon which time an updated device will be issued to continuing students.
The College program offers families significant savings. The recommended retail price for the laptop, software, licences, equipment, and insurance is approximately $2,200.00. In addition, all laptops will receive unlimited help desk services provided by the College for the duration of the program.
Parents will be charged a levy for the provision of the laptop, software and related equipment, and will include the following:
In addition, this cost includes the following damage covers:
At the end of Year 9, the laptop must be returned to the College. A separate letter explaining this process has been emailed to Year 9 parents. A new device will then be reissued at the commencement of Year 10 for the remaining three years.
At the end of Year 12, provided all charges applicable to the program have been met, the student will be allowed to retain the laptop. (At this time the laptop will be removed from the College network, all licenced software and data will be removed and it will be restored to the original factory state).
FOR YEAR 7 STUDENTS
When school commences, a mandatory information and distribution session will be held to answer any final questions, collect the signed Agreements, and distribute laptops to Year 7 students.
Please note that laptops will not be issued to Year 7 students until the student and parent have completed the Student Participation Agreement.
FOR YEAR 10 STUDENTS
• Students must bring their laptop from Year 9 to the IT Department.
• A Student Participation Agreement must be signed by both the student and parent, covering the period from Year 10 to Year 12.
Year 10 students will not be issued a new laptop until the above points are satisfied.
ALL OTHER NEW STUDENTS FROM YEAR 8 TO YEAR 12
New students will be issued with a new laptop on Orientation Day. Please ensure your child has a Student Participation Agreement signed by both the student and parent.
The 1-to-1 Laptop Program is a compulsory program designed to support all students.
