Year 7 Camp

Students of our Year 7 cohort recently attended their Leadership Camp at Tyalgum Ridge Estate in Northern NSW. The camp was in a beautiful rainforest location which played host to some of nature’s best finds including the second tallest tree in Australia, a cascading waterfall and rock pool, and plenty of flora and fauna.

With expert guide from professional rangers and teachers, the students made themselves at home for three days, erecting their tents and campfires and hiking between campsite locations. Throughout the adventure, students and teachers enjoyed a suite of activities including homemade cooking on the campfire, swimming, high ropes, low ropes, flying fox, archery, mountain biking, kayaking and team games. And when they were faced with a night of wild weather, teachers and students banded together and worked as a team to ensure that everyone remained safe and secure.

This was an action-packed camp full of challenges and rewarding experiences for the cohort. Students were not afraid to abandon their fears, tackle the pursuits and make new friends. What a great way to kick-start the year!
