Testing their endurance, resilience and teamwork as a cohort, our Year 6 students were recently challenged to a Kokoda-inspired incursion that reaffirmed the value of mateship and the rewards of collaboration.
During the incursion, students participated in an array of challenges and obstacles, including an army-inspired bootcamp, a platoon rope challenge, and a stretcher activity. The makeshift cadets were required to effectively communicate and carry their share of the weight to ensure that no team member would be left behind.
The activity came to a close as classmates shared in a barbeque lunch and offered positive words of affirmation to their peers, celebrating the greater sense of connection and value of mateship that was uncovered throughout the morning.
