Year 1 Scientists Create Mini Eruptions

Over this term, our Year 1 cohort has been studying the different properties of materials and how they can change physically and chemically. Rounding off their Science and Art unit for the term, last week students enjoyed some explosive class time with mini volcanoes, which they made from clay. After careful placement of a few key ingredients (bicarb and vinegar), the apprentices watched as their masterpieces erupted with bubbles before their own eyes.
