The Neville Bonner Café Grand Opening

With a delicious range of food and drinks on the menu, students and staff recently flocked to the grand opening of the Neville Bonner Café.

The Neville Bonner Centre refurbishment was completed in readiness for the 2022 school year and features industrial kitchens and an alfresco dining area complete with café designed to provide students with a real-world experience.

Year 11 Hospitality students embraced the opportunity to provide the College community with a simple and classic menu, featuring barista made coffees, iced drinks and milkshakes, along with an assortment of baked goods and hot food.

Rivermount College Hospitality teacher, Mrs Kelley Moloney shared the importance of students’ involvement in these events.

“Students develop awareness of industry workplace culture and practices and develop the skills, processes and attitudes desirable for future employment in the sector. They have opportunities to develop personal attributes that contribute to employability, including the abilities to communicate, connect and work with others, plan, organise, solve problems, and navigate the world of work.”

The Cafe will operate weekly on Tuesday mornings for the remainder of the year.
