Tallowwood creations an exciting addition to College Green

The College Green proudly stands as the campus hub, a beautiful and tranquil meeting place for students, staff, and families. Aptly named Yalun Wanggaibah, Indigenous for sunlit tallowwood place, the facility recently received a breathtaking addition with the creation of sculptures skilfully carved from the remains of two tallowwood trees.

Local artist, Matt Bird, magically transformed the stumps into sculptured carvings of our iconic sporting house mascots. Generously donated by The Hank Young Foundation for Aboriginal Welfare and Education, the frill necked lizard, dingo, eagle, and saltwater crocodile are welcome additions to the College Green and lasting artworks to be enjoyed by all.
