The adventurous Duke of Edinburgh program at Rivermount College provides Secondary students with the opportunity to engage in a variety of pursuits that build essential life skills and develops unique interests and talents.
As part of the program, eight dedicated students from Year 10 to Year 12 recently undertook a three-day cycling journey on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, from Yarraman to Coominya. The 118km off-road route required adventurers to camp overnight at Linville and at Toogoolawah Showgrounds. Along the way, students were rewarded with picturesque countryside including local attractions, old train stations and carriages, heritage-listed sites, the vibe of welcoming country towns and the rich history of early settlers.
Congratulations to all students that successfully completed the expedition.
