Secondary students Tiffany Cooke, Charlotte Cooke, Sienna McConnell and Henrietta Stahelin-Hall recently represented our College at the Gold Coast Junior Council meeting. The event focused on the work of the Young Change Agents with students attending from various Gold Coast schools. The enterprise specialises in fostering the ability of young people to perceive problems as opportunities through social entrepreneurship.
During the session, students were asked to design and present ideas on how to make life better for local youth. Working with their peers and associates, our students developed an innovative way for children and parents to communicate and deal with challenging situations together.
The City of Gold Coast Junior Council is a leadership program for Year 10 and 11 students. Members gain a unique opportunity to develop extra-curricular skills in communication, public speaking, consultation, program development and local Government-related processes.
