The College Environment Club is excited to introduce a new student initiative focussed on recycling. The venture aims to educate the College community to appreciate and embrace the concept of recycling and its importance on the environment. Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and helps to conserve natural resources as well as provides the opportunity to turn trash into new products.
The user-friendly recycling system will roll out at the start of Term 3 with special-coloured bins placed strategically around campus. Each bin is designated for the collection of different items ensuring that the recycling process is adhered to.
In conjunction with ‘Containers for Change Queensland’, the initiative will see rubbish collected on campus being recycled into money. The funds from the program will go towards new initiatives and events organised by the Student Representative Council (SRC).
We hope you enjoy this short video on the recycling project, featuring our Environment Captain, Max Reid and members of the 2021 Environment Club.
