Year 8 student Caiden MacFarlane recently competed at State and National Athletic Championships achieving outstanding results in his middle-distance event, the 1500 metre.
The gifted runner claimed first place and a personal best time of 4:32 at the recent Queensland Athletics Championships in Brisbane. This victory was followed by an impressive result at the Australian Track and Fields Championships held at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. In a nail-biting competition, Caiden secured 2nd place in the 1500 metre event with a time of 4:23:25. This was a significant achievement as the 1st place recipient broke an Australian record and the previous winner of the national event placed behind Caiden in 3rd place.
