Lincoln Evans: from P-plates to 2025 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge

Following his participation in last year's prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy in Malaysia, Year 12 student Lincoln Evans is still shifting gears in motorsport after debuting in the 2025 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge at Phillip Island. Racing a high-powered Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car as part of the Tyler Greenbury Racing team, Lincoln lined up as one of the youngest drivers alongside a stacked grid of rising talent and experienced competitors.

Speaking about his participation at the recent event, Lincoln said he was thrilled to race at the iconic track, calling it a dream track, fast, flowing, and legendary.

All this just days after receiving his P-plates! Lincoln admits that the nerves he felt while taking his driving test were more intense than anything he’s experienced on the track.

“I kind of had to drive like a grandma to pass. Honestly, I was more nervous for the driving test than I was during practice laps", he said.

Starting his journey in a Hyundai Excel, Lincoln quickly graduated to the high-speed world of Porsche racing, training on a racing simulator at home. He says the virtual seat time helped him catch the attention of Tyler Greenbury Racing, founded by former karting champion Tyler Greenbury.

Lincoln has also participated actively in the Porsche Junior Driver Academy on the Gold Coast this year.

Lincoln says about his long-term goals, “Maybe Supercars or Europe one day”. But for now, he is focused on soaking up as much experience as possible as he races into a bright future.

With the 2025 season underway, all eyes will be on this talented young driver as he continues to race toward a promising future in motorsport. We wish Lincoln the best of luck!
