‘A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change: So let’s all choose to challenge’. This is the message for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2021. Each year, IWD provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women, advocate for equality and raise awareness against bias.
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2021, a group of Rivermount College Year 12 students attended the local Soroptimist International Club breakfast. The SISWP (Soroptimist International Federation of the South West Pacific) is a global advocacy group inspiring action and transforming lives for women. The SISWP has school-based groups committed to educating, empowering and enabling women.
Guest speaker, Sharon Pullen, Director of Moore Australia, a global business company specialising in network governance and accounting was an inspiration to the students attending the 2021 breakfast. Sharon shared her remarkable career, detailing the road she travelled to her current role as Director and showcasing the tenacity of women as they progress and excel in their professional lives.
On behalf of our College community, we acknowledge and celebrate International Women’s Day 2021
