Students at Rivermount College participate in a dynamic curriculum that incorporates the opportunity to learn the Japanese language and culture. In the Primary School, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 immerse themselves weekly in an exciting world of new cultural experiences.
In preparation for Children’s Week celebrations, our Primary School students recently participated in a collaborative origami project. Children’s Week is a highlight on the Japanese calendar and celebrates children's personalities and their happiness. Students worked together in year levels to make giant koinobori kites. Each student made a kabuto origami to piece together in the body and tail of the koinobori. The finished art pieces are now hanging proudly in the College Library and provided a colourful display of creativity for our community to enjoy.
We hope you enjoy this special video of our Children’s Week celebrations.
