Caiden MacFarlane blitzes the 2022 Athletics and Cross Country Season

Rivermount College Year 9 student, Caiden MacFarlane, recently took home gold for the 800m and 1500m events at the Australian Athletic Championships. The talented athlete is one of only 4 runners in history to achieve the U/15yr 800/1500m double win at the Australian Championships.

In the lead up to the Australian Championships, Caiden secured gold for both events at the Queensland State Championships and now has his heart and training set on the Olympic Games.

Caiden’s talent stretches beyond the Athletics track to include an impressive series of wins in Cross Country. After achieving Interhouse Cross Country Age Champion, Caiden went on to successfully secure a win at the GBC (Greater Brisbane Conference) Interschool Carnival followed by first placings at the Pacific District and the South Coast Cross Country Championships.
