Addison Gets Tricky with Incredible Horse Riding Skills

Year 1 Rivermount College student and equestrian prodigy, Addison Rides, has been defying age limitations and leaving spectators in awe recently with her exceptional horse riding skills.

Under the guidance of her mother and experienced trainer, Hollie Shiels, Addison began riding when she was just two years old. Since then, she has competed in various horse shows including Lead Rein classes where contestants are judged on their riding ability and their attire, as well as their pony’s presentation.

At this year’s EKKA (the Royal Brisbane Show), Addison competed in three Lead Rein classes where she placed second, first and fourth in her Rider Class, Turnout Class, and Lead Rein Hunter Pony Class, respectively. During the event, Addison also carried the Australian flag in front of approximately 30,000 spectators per night as part of the evening’s entertainment.

Later this year, Addison will compete in a rider team at the Grand Nationals event held in Sydney.

To add to her repertoire, Addison has begun mastering the art of trick riding, which involves performing daring manoeuvres and acrobatics while riding her pony. The pint-sized equestrian star was recently spotted captivating crowds with her pony Hailee, at the Canungra Show.

As she continues to hone her skills and amaze audiences with her routines, we look forward to hearing more about Addison’s impressive equestrian achievements.
